On this day: On October 14, 1975, the Red Sox’ Carlton Fisk is interfered with by the Reds’ Ed Armbrister on a bunt in the bottom of the 10th inning but umpire Larry Barnett makes no call. The Sox would lose Game 3 of the World Series, 6-5.

Difficult to believe but true. Tuesday night’s walk-off homerun by Houston’s Yordan Alvarez was the first ever ninth inning, postseadon, two-out homerun by a player whose team was down by multiple runs.

Useless information supposed to fire my imagination: Alvarez’s homerun ranks first ever in MLB postseason history in “Win Probability Added” at +91.4 percent.

Yankees suck.

Have you been watching the NHL? During the first shift of power plays they show how long each player has been on the ice. Pretty cool, I think.
