Pets offered include a golden retriever, a tuxedo cat and a tabby cat. (I put this here as a sign of the apocalypse, but think about it. The robotic pets make sounds, respond to petting AND when you have had enough of them, you just shut them off! No cleaning up after them, no taking them for a walk, etc. Heck, I might get one!)

R.I.P. Bruce Shwoegler (80) – Local, former WBZ-TV meteorologist for 33 years. A Navy veteran, author and teacher, he won New England’s first Emmy Award for Outstanding Meteorologist and is in the Massachusetts Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame. He worked 5 days in a row during the Blizzard of ’78 because “the others guys couldn’t get in.”
