Briefly.

I recently read an article that said you should rediscover hobbies you had when you were 16 or 17 years old. So, if anybody needs me, I’ll be drunk in a field somewhere.

Go away: Political advertisements (at least for now)
Also, go away Kansas City wide receiver Rashee Rice. Thug!

And I say, rock on!

I’ve got a problem, actually, two. First, I have a colonoscopy scheduled in a couple/few hours. Second, this prep stuff is ridiculous. Two overnight laxatives as well as 14 daily doses of MiraLax (softener/laxative) within 8 hours! And, at the same time, I’m taking pills to combat diarrhea! Are you shittin’ me!

See what I did there…

As a matter of fact, I’ll be right back…

Phew!

Speaking of me, thankfully the elections are over, for now. I spent much of the campaign season in NH, not far from the ME border and live on the MA/NH border. I was getting pelted with advertisements from all angles! I tell you, what a life, that of a politician…

The Bruins beat up on the Penguins last night and now lead the division and are just behind Carolina in the East. I keep asking if this is going to last…

The Celtics? They stand second in the division and third in the East.

A lot of fun sports stuff going on around New England!

Article I’ll skip: Bill Belichick advances as Hall of Fame finalist after 2026 first-ballot snub. (That “snub” was so outrageous that I don’t need any further news regarding the subject)

Look, I get it. The new NFL oversize helmets. They were made to further protect the player from head injury and it is the player’s choice to wear one. I just can’t help think about Gizmo from the Flintstones when I see them out there.

This week’s sign of the apocalypse: Maybe this is old (I don’t get out much), but you can/could bet on the elections via DraftKings and other betting platforms.

DYK: The Montreal Canadiens blew a 4-goal lead the other night with less than 3 minutes to play?! The Winnipeg Jets scored four goals in two minutes and six seconds to tie the game with 33 seconds remaining in regulation, before beating Canadiens goalie Jacob Fowler with a wrist shot at 3:30 in overtime. Brutal!

Best sign: A picture of a dog, posted on a tree on someone’s property – “I CAN MAKE IT TO THE FENCE IN 3 SECONDS. CAN YOU?”

Doctor: Do you eat nuts after your workout, like I told you?
Me: Yes, after every workout.
Doctor: Which ones: Peanuts? Walnuts? Almonds?
Me: No, donuts

Trivia #1 answer: In what country are the Seychelles islands? – Africa

Trivia #3 answer: Though Wimbledon is a pretty big deal today, the very first tournament was scheduled in 1877 as a fundraiser for England’s preferred sport of the day. What sport? – Cricket, Croquet, Polo, Wrestling, Boxing, Badminton – Croquet

Don’t give up, don’t ever give up.

Be careful out there. (It’s a jungle!)

Happy National Nachos Day! – First created sometime around 1943, the popular and loved nachos are of Mexican origin. History tells us that Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya created the original nachos. According to his son, Nacho was the maître d’ at the El Moderno Restaurant in Piedras Negras. One evening after the kitchen staff had left, a group of U.S. Army wives stationed at Fort Duncan in Eagle Pass came into the restaurant. After a long day of shopping, they were hungry and asked for a snack. Anaya prepared some tostadas cut into triangles. After topping them with shredded cheese and sliced jalapenos, he heated the dish in the oven. They were such a hit with the Army wives that they named the snack “Nacho’s Special” before he could make another batch.

I can’t serve you this afternoon but I can serve you tomorrow afternoon. Come on downtown and we can discuss any number of engaging subjects. (You have my word that I will have washed my hands after today’s procedure.)

A woman at the airport fainted and fell into the baggage carousel. She’s slowly coming around.

“God only knows, God makes his plan
The information’s unavailable to the mortal man
We work our jobs, collect our pay
Believe we’re gliding down the highway
When in fact we’re slip sliding away

Slip sliding away, slip sliding away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip sliding away”

Paul Simon (Slip Slidin’ Away)
