R.I.P. Rick Hoyt (61) due to complications with his respiratory system – Boston Marathon icon was a longtime staple on the Boston course, pushed in his wheelchair by his father Dick for decades. Rick was also a pioneer in education. His mother, Judy Hoyt changed the laws allowing her son to be educated alongside his nondisabled peers.
R.I.P. Tina Turner (83) – American—born Swiss singer known as the “Queen of Rock ‘n Roll.” She rose to prominence as the lead singer for the Ike & Tine Turner Revue before launching a successful career as a solo performer. Two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, also inducted to the Soul Music Hall of Fame and the St. Louis Classic Rock Hall of Fame.
